Born on April 30, 1586 in Lima, the King's City, founded on January 18, 1535, the great and famous city, of once powerful Inca's Empire, before the New World discovery: Lima was the town of our Saint, being the Catholic Church ruled by Sumo Pontific Sixto V.
Her fathers were: Mr. Gaspar Flores and Mrs. Maria de Oliva, both from honored families and short of fortune properties; but with very special heaven providence which determined to enrich them with the precious treasure of their daughter. |

In the street of Santo Domingo, and very close to the Hospital, lived her parents when Virgin Rosa came to the world.
In the Pentecost's holiday that Romans named Eastern Roses, was baptized on Mayo 25, 1586 in the church of Saint Sebastian bearing the name Isabel Flores de Oliva. It follows the birth certification is transcribed: |

On Sunday, the Saint Spirit Day of Eastern, twenty five of May of one thousand five hundred and eighty six, I baptized, Isabel, daughter of Gaspar Flores and Maria de Oliva; were the good parents Mr. Hernandez de Valdes and Maria Orozco. Isabel daughter of esteem. « Antonio Polanco »
«and over the “B” of the name there is a blur, which fully covers it and at that certificate margin it says: Isabel daughter of esteem. This said document and its margin are faithfully taken from that book, where there is the original to what I refer; and as a constancy I gave it signed with my name, in Lima at November four, of one thousand six hundred and sixty nine.

She was confirmed at the age of eleven years old, in 1597, being a resident of Quivi, Canta Province by the Archbishop Saint Toribio de Mogrovejo, who by Divine inspiration call her Rosa. She was honored as the first sanctity flower in America, insigne for the fragrance of her penitence and praying. Doted of brilliant qualities and gifts of ingenuity. She being a child was already consecrated to the Lord with virginity vow.
She felt a deep veneration for Saint Catherine of Sienna, who after a surprisingly affinity with her and for that reason she got the Predicators Order garment as Dominican third in Santo Domingo's Convent on August 10 of 1606 to devote herself more plentifully to the evangelic perfection. She made her religious profession on August 30, 1607. |

She loved the loneliness and she devoted a great deal of her time to the divine contemplation, willing to also introduce others into the mysteries of (secret praying), and to divulgate the spiritual books and inclusive to encourage the priests for attracting everybody to the praying love.
She almost was always secluded in a small hermitage of her parents garden, even though she opened her soul to the Church's missionary work with ardent devotion for the salvation of sinners and the Indians to whom she wanted to give her life and was devoted to voluntary and hard penitence for gaining then toward Christ, (pity of her because being a woman she could not apply herself to the apostle ministry). |
| Along 15 years she suffered the Great Spirit aridity as a purifying crucible. With a profound science of sins evil, she desired to be stone and lime for closing to all the hell doors. She was also enlighten by her charity acts toward the people in need and oppressed, Rosa lived her love to Jesus in the Eucharist and in deep pity for his Holy Saint Mother, whose rosary she struggled to propagate with endless fervor, estimating that all Christians should predicate it with the word and must be engraved into everybody's heart. |

On 1615 Palm Sunday, in Our Lady of Rosary Chapel of Santo Domingo Convent, she celebrated her mystic marriage, in which the Lord told her: "Rosa of my Herat, be my wife” She lived her last three years of life in Sir de la Maza's house, her good father. Later, on February 2 nd , 1708 there was founded the Santa Rosa de Santa Maria Monastery of Lima. |

She died in Lima the 24 of August 1617, being 31 years, 3 month and 25 days old in this holy house. On dying she said: "Jesus, Jesus be with me". Her body is venerated in the Santo Rosario de Lima Dominic basilica, because she asked that as a charity.
Pope Clement IX beatified her on 1668.
In 1669 she was proclaimed Peru's Lady.
She was proclaimed the Lady of America, Philippines and West Indian in 1670.
On April 12th, 1671 Pope Clement X canonized her.
